Sorry it has been a while since we had a chance to update the happenings at this house. Outside of the "normal"? things happening like footsteps around 3 am there hasn't been anything very dramatic to write about.
Early Sunday afternoon, June 22, around 1:00 pm or so, something rather odd and very chilling happened. Gennie was sitting on the sofa and I was sitting at the computer desk chatting away to the folks in the chat room on msn. As we were chatting, we heard a loud noise coming from the wall behind me (which also is the same wall that the webcam is set up). It sounded like a big thump. We turned around very quickly to see if anything had fallen and to our surprise everything looked perfectly in place. As my eyes glanced up, I noticed the chains to my cuckoo clock were swinging very fast back and forth. There was no one walking or moving around that could even suggest that a "wind" of that force could start that moving action. The swinging continued for a few minutes and then came to a stop.
Later in the day, as I was sitting in the breakfast room, Gennie came in to to that room to tell me something. When I looked at her face, she had such a shocked expression! I asked her what was wrong, thinking that something was happening to the baby. She said there is a huge orb over my head! She saw a big ball of light directly above my head. It started in the corner of the room and was moving to the other side of the wall and then suddenly vanished! Needless to say, if what she told me she saw didn't creep me out, the shocked look on her face surely did. I decided quite suddenly to stop what I was doing in there and go to another room.
We still don't know what caused the loud thump nor was anything near the cuckoo clock to start the chains swinging in motion.
*Update* - When the reporter was doing the story about us for the newspaper, he was so fascinated by this experience that he decided to add the experience into the newspaper article he was writing, as well as take my picture by the cuckoo clocks!
